Why do I have neck pain?
Neck pain can be caused by multiple different things depending on location of pain in the neck region. It can be caused by trauma, repetitive small movements, arthritis, disc, and postural pain.
Sometimes neck pain is accompanied with numbness, tingling, burning, and radiating pain down the arm. This is due to the cervical nerves that leave the neck and down into your arm.
Free tips to help manage my neck pain:
- Lie down on the floor or a bed and use both your hands to grab the base of your head and push away from your body. If you have pain going down your arm, you should note how far it goes down your arm. With this exercise, you are looking to get the radiation in your arm to get closer (centralize) to your neck. If the pain goes further down your arm, stop immediately.
- Isometric exercise with your chin tucked in. Ten second holds with this exercise.
